Sunflowers🌻
A Few Fun Facts
Sunflowers are a symbol of hope.

They grow tall, have deep roots and
follow the sun throughout the day.

Sunflowers are colorful - not always yellow, but can come in deep red, burnt orange, and purple varieties.

Sunflowers were used as a source of
healing for the Native Americans.

They bring nourishment to the body
as the entire sunflower plant is edible, including the leaves, stalks, and roots.

They bring joy and happiness
to those who see them.

I am an OVERCOMER, and I have a story to tell. One that has taken me from being bound in chains because I believed the lies of the enemy to being set FREE.

I have overcome a childhood that kept me knocked down. I left home as soon as I could to escape the toxic environment I grew up in. My head was filled with negative self-talk and suicidal intentions.

I have sat in the darkness of depression. I have sat in a room as the negative thoughts swirled in my mind and I wondered if I would ever be able to escape the anger, bitterness, hurt, and sadness that enveloped me. There was a heaviness that I couldn’t seem to shake. It weighed me down.

This started to change the day I met Jesus.
Jesus has changed my life, and He can change yours too.

Still, I Rise has become my motto taken from Micah 7:8 (NLT),
“Do not gloat over me, my enemies!
For though I fall, I will rise again.
Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.”
